The Close Encounters Tour is Robbie Williams' 2006 worldwide concert tour. It kicked off in Durban's ABSA Stadium on 10 April, and ended in Melbourne on 18 December. The tour has been a great success financially, with every date selling out the morning the tickets go on sale.

Williams recently finished his Close Encounters World Tour in Melbourne, Australia on December 18 2006, to which he played to more than 3.5 million people around the globe.[11] He broke the World Record for selling 1.6 million tickets in a single day[citation needed]. The tour kicked off in Dublin, Ireland at Croke Park. BBC Probe Orson, The Beautiful South and Basement Jaxx were the support acts for his European dates. The supporting act in Australia was Sneaky Sound System, an Australian band.
